English actress Gwendoline Tracey Philippa Christie was born on October 28, 1978.
She is recognized for her performances as Brienne of Tarth in the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (2012–2019) and as Captain Phasma, a First Order stormtrooper, in the movies Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017).
She was nominated for the former’s Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Primetime Emmy Award in 2019. Since then, Christie has made appearances in the Netflix fantasy series Wednesday and The Sandman (both 2022).
